Originally from Southern California, Kelli Lewis moved east to attend The College of William and Mary, where she earned a B.A. in English. After graduation, she moved to Cambridge, MA, where she met her husband of 29 years now, Derek Lewis. While living in Cambridge, Kelli earned an M.A. in Reading from The Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she also worked in the Development Office. During this time Kelli became certified through Massachusetts General Hospital as an Orton Gillingham teacher for students with dyslexia. While earning her master’s degree, Kelli and Derek also lived in a freshman dorm at Harvard College, where Kelli had the privilege of serving as a proctor (‘aka’ dorm mom). Kelli and Derek were blessed with their oldest daughter three months before she earned her master’s, so she tutored kids with dyslexia during her early years of mothering.

Kelli and Derek have three children, one son-in-law, a granddaughter and a grandson. Their daughters and son-in-law have all earned degrees from The University of Virginia, and their son, Jacob, is a first year at UVA.

Kelli and Derek live in Richmond, Virginia, and are members of Church Hill Presbyterian Church, where Kelli leads the greeter team and co-leads the women’s Bible study. In her free time, Kelli enjoys hiking and being in nature, reading and investing in her relationships with people.
