
Counseling Services at the Study Center
The Center for Christian Study is delighted to offer free, short-term counseling services for UVA students.
Study Center Board member and licensed counselor, Marta McKinnon, is available for sessions at the Study Center or online.

Marta received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Wheaton College and a masters in counseling from Boston University. She has worked in the counseling field in various capacities for over three decades, including; military, private practice and corporate Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). Marta is excited to offer the EAP model to the Study Center by offering students short-term counseling (1 to 3 visits) to help deal with a variety of situations. A few examples might be:
Providing brief counseling for a specific concern
Helping students seeking more on-going therapy to locate a therapist
Supporting students who may be on a waiting list for counseling
Marta offers this confidential counseling at no cost to students. She is licensed in Virginia as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
